What we are all about

Bing Long Books is an independent publisher of important literary and other work by, and of interest to, the English speaking community in China and Asia.  Although some of the work currently being done by our authors is of interest to a larger readership, much of it targets a smaller niche market.

In addition to our Contemporary China Series, China Nature Series, and Bing Long Kids, Bing Long Books is proud to announce the Marco Polo Series, a collection of rare, out of print travel writing from early travelers to China. If you wish to be notified when new books become available for purchase simply email us at info@binglongbooks.com with a message like 'yes please' or 'keep me posted'.

Cross Cultural Teaching Teams provides a glimpse into a fascinating new opportunity for teachers in the current era of globalization of education. The author, a Canadian teacher working at an International School in China, details his cooperative efforts with a local Chinese geography teacher to enhance geographic learning and achievement via what he terms a Cross Cultural Teaching Team (CCTT). This book examines the progression from the Chinese geography program to the Canadian geography program, identifies areas of difficulty specific to Offshore School students, and finally provides a model for Cross Cultural Teaching Teams. Based on rigorous research, this book reveals significant insights into areas of difficulty for offshore students studying Western curriculum but suggests that some of these difficulties may be overcome via Cross Cultural Teaching Teams.
